Travelling… it opens us up to new challenges and experiences and for our adventure world travel experience is all about trying new things! It pushes us out of our comfort zone and gives us endless opportunities to tick off all those crazy bucket list dreams in stunning surroundings. What better time to try out a new activity or go on an adventure you will never forget than when you are seizing the day and travelling the world! Camping
Camping might not seem like the wildest adventure activity but it’s in fact such a fun way to experience the outdoors and such an important vehicle for experiencing many of the other adventures out there. Camping itself can be wild though, hiking through the wilderness, climbing a mountain and kayaking back down a river is one thing, but staying overnight in a hostel, hotel or heading back home is one thing.
But to retire back to a tent or campervan just makes the adventure so much more intense! Spending days or weeks travelling and living off your own instinct with only the things on your back is a real adventure that shouldn’t be overlooked!
There are some pretty wild places to camp too, you can go travelling by campervan in Costa Rica, or take a tent and pitch it on the side of a Welsh Mountain or in the isolated Australian backcountry! Camping is an adventure anyone can get involved in too, from alpine camping to setting up a tent in the back garden! Just be sure to bring along a good quality lightweight down sleeping bag as well as a good tent and other essentials for both comfort and safety.

The ultimate adventure activity, jumping into pools from 30 ft+, sliding down incredible natural slides and rappelling down huge waterfalls. It’s an epic adrenaline rush! Not only is it one of the most exciting and fun activities you can try it also allows you to see the power of nature up close and personal in some amazing settings. You will explore canyons, ravines and gorges carved over thousands of years by flowing mountain waters! It doesn’t get much crazier than this!!

White Water Rafting
Another full-on adventure activity in which you have to pay attention, work together and be brave! Often in freezing glacial waters rafting allows you to tackle some intense rapids even as a complete beginner. Tackle some of the rolling hills of the Pennines or cross some of the needle-like ridges of the Lake District or why not hike to Machu Picchu… the world is your oyster!
Or if you are even more outgoing there are plenty of Alpine peaks suitable for the moderately experienced hiker or mountaineer alike, you could even think about Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro! Switzerland and the Bernese alps offer hiking for all levels of experience and you can take in some of the most amazing and impressive views in the world with ease.

Canoeing
If you fancy giving kayaking a go but it seems a little bit too extreme then canoeing is for you! Instead of tackling the white water and rapids of fast-flowing rivers canoeing is more about taking a slow and steady journey through amazing scenery and taking the time to absorb it all. From lakes to rivers canoeing is a gentle adventure activity which allows you time to make a relaxing journey, we even took a dog along with us! Canoes are surprisingly steady too, but we can’t promise you won’t fall in!

Camera
The Sony a7 IV is a Full Frame Mirrorless Camera with Interchangeable Lenses.
The Sony Alpha 6600 is a cheaper APS-C mirrorless alternative.
Lens
The Sony 24-105 f4 is a great allrounder for travel photography offering a good focal length range.
On the Sony a6600 the Sony E 16-55mm f/2.8 G is a great option with similar range.
Compact
We love the Sony RX 100 VII as a great quality compact. It’s 1 inch sensor, full manual controls and articulating screen make it perfect for selfies!
The GoPro Hero 11 Black is also a must for any trip. It even shoots in RAW and is perfect for water based activities
Other
We love our iPhone 15 Pro Max for capturing those lowkey moments and for being so accessible at all times. The video is also great and we loved the photo editing apps too.
Our go to backpack is the Wandrd Prvke Backpack which has side access and heaps of room for lenses as well as a separate section for other items
Paragliding
Paragliding for us has to be one of the most amazing adventure activities we have been lucky enough to try. Despite extreme experiences, you don’t need to run off any cliffs and hope the canopy opens! It is in fact one of the most chilled-out activities you can do! Sitting back in your harness and flying 4000 ft above the ground is exhilarating and mind-blowing all at the same time. Paragliding allows you to see the world from a totally new perspective, one which you will never forget! For us, this is the ultimate adventure world travel activity!

Climbing
Climbing can be as difficult or easy as you make it, from hanging off the side of a sheer cliff by your fingertips with your last clip meters below you to scrambling up a gentle slope with a reassuring rope above you. Climbing can be a lifestyle hobby where you push yourself both mentally and physically, taking you to some of the most exposed and wonderful places in the world. Or, you could give it a go and any number of locations, such as Krabi in Thailand, with a qualified instructor on easy but still challenging terrain! It’s the original adventure activity!
Via Ferrata
Via Ferrata takes hiking to the next level but yet is not quite as extreme as climbing in its physical challenge. A distinct step up from scrambling Via Ferrata takes you to heights and exposed positions only experienced mountaineers would usually find themselves in. Following tracks of wires across staples thousands of feet in the air, swaying bridges and zip lines it is truly a magnificent and inconceivably safe way to traverse and climb valley walls and mountain passes.

Stand Up Paddleboarding
One of the fastest-growing water sports Stand Up Paddleboarding is surprisingly easy to pick up and easy to do. SUP as it is known is usually practised on lakes, flat rivers or in the surf where it derives from. A relaxing and unique way to explore a multitude of waterways it is also quite the workout!! SUP is such fun and also one of the best activities for a rainy day too, hey, you’re going to get wet anyway!
