Heading on over to The Philippines we were in search of paradise; white sand beaches, turquoise seas and magnificent hidden lagoons filled with crystal clear warm waters. In El Nido we found this and much more, a literal island paradise with so much beauty and adventure to explore. We also discovered the most perfect location to base ourselves: DoubleGem Resorts. Just outside of the town and right on the beach front it provided the perfect location to relax, soak in the magnificent sunsets from the pool and launch our explorations of the island from!

El Nido: A paradise on Palawan

When you think of paradise what comes to mind, white sand beaches, crystal clear turquoise water, palm tree lined coasts, impossible peaks rising from the waters and colourful corals. El Nido is just that and more, a paradise for adventurers to beach bums, it has the lot in a laid back and characterful town. Double Gem offers the chance to explore this beautiful area of Palawan from boat trips to mountain hiking, to delve into the many sides of this most wonderful area of the Philippines!

The perfect beach front location where you can watch the sunset from the beautiful pool

El Nido town itself is wonderfully alive with locals buzzing around and visitors enjoying this amazing place. But it can get a little busy, so heading up the amazing coastal road over to Double Gem allows you the peace and serenity of staying right on the beach with the convenience of El Nido town being just a 10 minute tricycle ride away.  This means you can really enjoy and experience the two sides to El Nido, the lively town where you can party the night away and the laid back beaches where you can sit by the pool, at the bar or even your balcony and watch the sunset against this stunning back drop.

A whole host of options and unique features

One of the really great things about DoubleGem Beach Resort & Hotel is the facilities on offer, of course, the first thing you notice is the huge swimming pool right on the beach, what better location could you ask for? But if swimming isn’t your thing you can always shoot some hoops as the Filipinos love to do or challenge someone to a game of volleyball before hitting the gym on the top floor of the hotel! Later on be sure to watch the sunset from the bar set on the beach and enjoy some delicious pizza from their wood fire oven!

DoubleGem Beach Resort & Hotel is also designed with the guest in mind, each section of the hotel includes a different design and theme in order to best suit your needs. From the super modern and slick main building where you can stay in a clean and fashionable space.

Or head on over to the garden area where you can choose from one of the many uniquely designed cottages that take elements of traditional Filipino design including bamboo thatching and stone flooring for a more authentic experience. You can even cross over the road and stay in the jungle, surrounded by all the soothing sounds of nature and the lush green side of El Nido.

Plan your adventures from here with the amazing staff and their wonderful knowledge of the area

The staff at DoubleGem Beach Resort & Hotel too are a real highlight of staying here, the local they have means you can really make the most of your time in this amazing location. There is just so much to do in and around El Nido and up into Coron that is can be bewildering!
