There are many reasons that people visit the fantastic country of India. One of the best reasons, and particularly for animal lovers, is to see a tiger in its natural habitat. Many people will have seen these majestic creatures at the zoo, but seeing them in India is a completely different experience and something that you will never forget.
There are a few different places that you will be able to see tigers on an Indian adventure holiday, including the following National Parks:
Bandhavgarh National Par
Spotting a tiger is quite rare, but your best chances are in this wonderful National Park in Central Northern India. This is, in part, because it is a relatively small park at just 437 sq.km, but it features stunning natural surroundings with a cliff-top fort overlooking the area. It features the highest density of tigers in all of India’s preserves, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled on a game drive through the park. In addition to tigers, you may also see leopards, chital, sambar, wild pig, sloth bear and around 150 species of bird.
Ranthambore National Park
A vast wildlife park in Rajasthan in Northern India it is one of the best places in the country to see the wonderful Tigers alongside leopards and crocodiles. The grounds are the former royal hunting grounds which include an imposing 10th century fort and Ganesh Mandir temple. One of the best ways to insure you do get to see one of these amazing animals is on a tour such as Rajasthan Tour Package
Kanha National Park
Kanha National Park is in the same region as Bandhavgarh, so you should be able to tick both off of your list. This is one of the biggest National Parks in all of India and also referred to as the country’s greatest wildlife reserve. It boasts superb scenery over 1945 sq km and hundreds of different species, including tigers. Sadly, poaching has decreased numbers but you may well see one here. If not, a game drive will still be a magnificent experience due to the great beauty and other creatures on show.
Pench National Park
A superb tiger reserve found in Madhya Pradesh, Pench National Park is one of the best spots to see a tiger and there are around 40 in the area. It is also famed for being the setting for Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book”, so it is a great place to visit for literary or Disney fans. In addition to tigers, you may also spot Indian leopard, Indian wolf, chital, jackal, hyenas and plenty more.
India is an amazing country to visit and especially due to its incredible wildlife, most notably for the majestic tigers found here. Tiger spotting is a thrilling and exciting activity and particularly on game drives through the above National Parks, all of which are known to be great spots for tiger watching but also for other wildlife.
