Blenheim Palace is probably the finest country house in England and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in the 18th Century, this is the ancestral home and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, Britain’s iconic wartime Prime Minister. The Palace is located about 75 miles from London in the Cotswolds countryside and with so much to explore, it is one of the most popular places to visit in the area. Our favourite part of Blenheim is to have a stroll through the different gardens which were used in the filming of various Walt Disney films. But an entrance ticket will get you access all of the Palace including the State Rooms, Churchill Exhibition, ‘Untold Story’, Park, Formal Gardens and Pleasure Gardens, meaning you could easily spend a whole day here and not see everything! Getting around the UK.

The great thing about the UK is that it is a small country compared to places like Australia and the US, that means that taking a road trip is the perfect way to take in all the sights. The UK has some great public transport networks but they often are unreliable when it comes to visiting the more rural spots. So hiring a car and exploring all our homeland has to offer is the perfect way to make the most of a trip over to the UK.

Second hand car prices are also good too in England and so buying a car is also an option if you are travelling for a longer period of time, you can then also take this across the channel and onto mainland Europe to extend the adventure and is something a friend of ours visiting from Australia did recently. This is a great option if you don’t have credit card for renting and longer term will also work out much cheaper. Be sure to get your MOT done and make sure the car is in good working order before setting off on your adventure. A great website to use for budget options is www.buycarparts.co.uk
