5 Great Places to Visit Out of Season

Once you start travelling during the off season you will wonder why you never did it before. Prices are often cheaper on accommodations and airfare, the queues are shorter at popular attractions, and you have a better chance of seeing the real side of the city without a million tourists. Here are 5 great places which are much better visited out of season.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Dubrovnik is a stunning walled city in Croatia that is very popular with tourists during the peak season. You can visit Dubrovnik during the autumn and winter to find fewer crowds. Many of the accommodations are cheaper as well. Head to Stradun in the Old Town and you can visit the cafes in Dubrovnik and enjoy a spectacular view which can be difficult to get during its peak season time. Join up with a tour that includes walking inside of the wall or you can even tour the site where Game of Thrones is filmed.

Havana, Cuba

Going on a holiday to Cuba is a great idea, and is bound to create amazing memories. However, it is a popular destination, especially the beautiful city of Havana, so it is best to avoid the peak season. Peak seasons are from December through March, so if you wish to avoid the large amount of tourists that come to Havana you should skip these months and have a lovely holiday at a discounted price.

Explore the beauty of this exciting city and visit Havana Cathedral, El Capitolio, Museum of the Revolution, and Gran Teatro de La Habana. Rent an old car and tour the area. The months from November through March are considered a low season and it is a great time to visit for a holiday without large crowds of people. Wander through the streets and see the fabulous architecture of Antoni Gaudi, explore the beautiful parks, and indulge in tapas before heading out for an exciting night on the town.

Rome is a stunning city of art and architecture that is incredibly busy during the peak season. Visit this ancient city during the months from November through February and you will find less crowds and shorter queues.
