Holiday Ideas for Couples

Whether you and your other half are explorers that guide each other, crafters who love to create or gazers who like to look at something beautiful – our destination list has something to offer every couple the world over. Here are a few ideas if you’re looking for that perfect couples holiday. You can also get them for a little less, into the bargain!

Lagos, Portugal

For partners who like a hidden treasure amongst their holiday chest, Ponta da Piedade in Portugal is a find! After scaling the vast rocks, sandy steps take you through what resembles a pirate’s cave, to where the sparkling blue water meets the rugged cliffs. From there, you and your other half can take a romantic boat ride between the intricate rocks and witness what is reminiscent of a mystical paradise lost.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

At the Croydon Plantation in Montego Bay, you and your spouse are invited to help pick pineapples, coffee beans and other citrus fruits in a tranquil setting. Fewer things are more relaxing than sharing a mug of rich black coffee with the one you love, especially after picking and brewing the beans yourself. While there is no bad time to visit the plantation, be aware that springtime is when most of it’s fruity delights are in season.

Cappadocia, Turkey

Cappadocia emanates something of a fairy-tale quality. In the ‘Land of Horses’, you and your significant other can ride atop the beasts from which it’s name is derived and trot amongst the volcanic peaks that lay scattered across Cappadocia’s whimsical landscape. Still undiscovered by major tourism, take advantage of this captivating place in the summer months while you can.

Angkor Wat, Cambodia

Originally a Hindu temple, Angkor Wat is now the subject of pilgrimages for spiritualists from across the world. It’s symbolic architecture make the temples’ sacred quality impossible to deny; a visit made more poignant with a soul mate to share it’s wonder with. While November to March provides Cambodia with it’s best weather, this is also peak tourist season, so you may wish to avoid this time of year for a more Zen-like experience.

Riviera Maya, Mexico

If you and your partner are simply looking for something beautiful to stare at then Riviera Maya is postcard picturesque. White sandy beaches are complimented by electric blue waters, while glorious palm trees line the dreamy shore. Dry season runs from late November to February, so try to visit then.
