Wherever I May Roam – Metallica

Where I lay my head is home

By myself but not alone.”

And laid this head in many ports
I was guided by a compass

It’s a Beautiful Day – U2

See the canyons broken by cloud, See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out

And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth,
After the flood all the colours came out
It’s a beautiful day, Don’t let it get away”

Hold on  – Twin Atlantic
“Hold on, if you can, be strong,
Yeah it’s a risk worth taking, to have a life worth living”

Good Riddance (time of your life) – Green Day

“Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go
So make the best of this test, and don’t ask why
It’s not a question, but a lesson learned in time
It’s something unpredictable, but in the end it’s right
I hope you had the time of your life.”

It’s my life – Bon Jovi

“It’s my life
It’s now or never
I ain’t gonna live forever
I just want to live while I’m alive.”

Architects – Rise Against

“Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before?
Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?
Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate?
Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?”

Rebelling against normality and consumerism/ being yourself

Between angles and insects – Papa Roach

“It’s about a revolution, in your heart and in your mind,
‘Til you find a conclusion, lost out in obsession,
Diamond rings get you nothing but a life-long lesson,
And your pocketbooks stressing,
You’re a slave to the system, working jobs that you hate for that shit you don’t need,
It’s too bad the world is based on greed,
Step back and see,
Stop thinking about yourself, start thinking about
There’s no money, there’s no possession, only
Obsession, I don’t need that shit.”

Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvana
Fated to pretend – MGMT
Shangri La – The Kinks
“The little man who gets the train
Got a mortgage hanging over his head
But he’s too scared to complain
‘Cause he’s conditioned that way
Time goes by and he pays off his debts
Got a TV set and a radio
For seven shillings a week
Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la, Shangri-la”

Born to Run – Bruce Springsteen

Express yourself – NWA

“Expressing ain’t their subject because they like to follow
The words, the style, the trend, the records I spin
Again and again and again, yo, you on the other end
Watch a brother saying dope rhymes with no help
There’s no fessing and guessing while I’m expressing myself
It’s crazy to see people be
What society wants them to be, but not me.”
