Since starting climbing last year we have been keen to get out into the mountains. My parents go to the Lake District quite often and invited us along to climb the “Old Man Of Coniston”
This was actually the first mountain I had ever climbed, I had been on some hikes with my grandad and the guides and a child but never to the summit of a mountain! It turns out it is quite hard work and at times pretty treacherous!
The views on the way up were quite spectacular and made the hard work worth it. Unfortunately the summit was covered in low lying clouds so there was no view, but that was the least of our worries up here! On the final approach the wind was very strong and it even knocked my dad to his feet, you could hear it swirling and roaring around the mountains. It as so strong at the top standing up was difficult but we made it!
After this we now have our sights set on the three peaks challenge in a few years time!
